[ He reaches out to adjust that lily again, as his other hand goes to box of chocolates. ]

I need to borrow these for a second.

[ lets him take it from him ]

Okay...

[ Sets it by the phone and then takes both of Makoto's hands, bringing one up to rest on his own shoulder and holding the other out. It's too bad he's entirely too self-conscious to look at Makoto while he does it, keeping his gaze lowered until he accomplishes his task and can face him with flushed cheeks.

Then, before he can lose his nerve, he starts to move them across the floor in step with the music. ]

[ it takes him a moment, but he smiles from how cute this set up is. there's no way he's going to be anything but awkward in this dancing, but he's following Rin's lead, trying to make sure to not step on any toes ]

[ Well, Rin is still finding his own rhythm since dancing with someone taller than him is definitely new. He's only really done this with Gou before and that was a while ago. Still, he's good with his feet so he can pick things up well enough. ]

I thought it might be nice to have a new first for our first Valentine's Day.

[ it's slow enough that he isn't stepping on any feet and the fact that there isn't anyone watching them does ease his nerves some ]

It's very romantic.

[ gives him a light kiss at that, squeezing Rin's hand ]

[ Awkward flushed smile ]

Yeah, well, you know me...

[ Kisses him back ]

And you're so damn tall! Try putting your head on my shoulder.

[ small laugh from that ]

Well, I can't help that...

[ but he moves to rest his head on Rin's shoulder, shifting closer ]

[ Rin moves them around slightly smoother than before now that he has height differences sorted out, slowly starting to rest his head against Makoto's ]

I... haven't really done this in a while... That we haven't stepped on each other is a fucking miracle.

[ nuzzles Rin softly at that ]

It just means we're really in sync, doesn't it?

[ Some of that nervousness eases away as he laughs a younger, more playful laugh and kisses Makoto again ]

Yeah! Totally!

[ kisses back with a smile and a nuzzle ]

I like that thought.

Yeah, me too.

[ He spins them around this time, getting more into the music now that his self-consciousness is gradually starting to die down. It's a smooth motion, adopting more of Rin's spontaneous fluidity and it guides them almost to the other side of the small area they're dancing in. Somehow, despite the space, Rin manages to keep from smashing either of their shoulders and arms against a wall, even as he presses quick kisses into Makoto's hair once or twice. ]

[ can't help but laugh from how comfortable this is, nuzzling him in return to those hair kisses, just following along with him and letting himself completely relax here with Rin ]
